Paul battenbough singer songwriter, guitarist, vocalist with king of despair and no thee no ess. Having just had live Green Man Festival performance coverage on BBC Radio 6,he's here.

i prefer the humdrum kitchen sink dramas of country music to anything else.
there's room in country music for irony and humour, two of the ingredients that i like to include in my songwriting. but it's not all country. i'll use any genre to get the song across. also working in the field of art has helped develop a more experimental approach in the creative process. what i aim for is the perfect marriage of lyric to sound. sometimes it even works! usually the musical backdrop to the songs are the various bands and projects i am involved in. for this gig it will be nice to hear the songs in their bare glory, stripped back to acoustic guitar, which is how they were written.
